Yucca - Agavaceae
The yucca is one of the great indoor plants that prefers more light. So an ideal position for it would be next to a window. The plant will definitely live in low light, but you’ll need to make sure you apply proper watering and maintenance strategies. Make sure to place all indoor plants next to a light source over the weekend. All plants need light.
Maintenance
- In bright or high light settings, allow the top soil to dry out before watering.
- In low-light settings indoors, allow 70% of the soil to dry down between waterings.
- Do not let the yucca sit in a puddle that can accumulate in the bottom of the pot, this is because, in low light areas this extra water may encourage rotting.
- Cane rotting and drooping are signs of over watering.
Benefits
Removes around 50% of harmful formaldehyde from air.
Removes about 30% of harmful Trichloroethylene (TCE) from the air.
Yucca has many different looks with 49 species and 24 subspecies!
